Genealogy

GENEALOGY: I did extensive genealogy research with my family over my Christmas vacation and enjoyed every minute of it. Below is a picture of my great grandmother Violet--beautiful. I'm learning so much and talking with my great Aunt Reece, great Uncle Joe, and great Aunt Marge on my dad's maternal and paternal sides was a great experience and I believe so important. The past must be remembered and passed down through the generations so that families can have a sense of identity and self. Our ancestors made us who we are today. Posted by Picasa

HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS

I recently was able to go home for the holiday season and had a wonderful experience. My family and friends are always warm and welcoming. I wish I could have spent more time back in my old "hood" but work calls...sigh. I really hope some of them will visit me in Phoenix sometime and we can paint the city (whatever color they choose). I have a few people from high school, including my sista, that have been my dear friends for 10 years this year...how time does fly! In ten years, there have been some tears, some craziness, a little rebellion, and always much laughter. Though are lives have literally moved us in different generations, we are still connected at the core. I hope everyone of my friends can make this year 2006 a wonderful year of renewal, self-reflection, good times with those closest, and much happiness!

I raise my mug of green tea to 2006! May it resonate with happiness both in America and abroad!
